Malta continues its adventure in the World Cup qualifiers (Pool 1B) as it faces Belgium in Brussels this afternoon.

After their victory against Croatia in Malta last week, Malta is now hoping to register another important win not just to continue improving its ranking, but also in the hope of earning promotion to Pool 1 A.

National coach Damian Neill has two enforced changes for today’s match which kicks off at 4pm.

Both Ollie Sacco and Matthew Mirabelli are unavailable and will be replaced by Malcolm Attard of Stompers and Finlayson. This means a reshuffle so that Lee Culnane moves up from full back to wing and Joe Sultana comes in at full back.

The starting line-up is as follows: 1. Zammit, 2. Collins, 3. Zarb, 4. Watts, 5. Bonavia, 6. Kennedy, 7. Kempster, Captain, 8 St. George, 9. Dimond, Vice Captain, 10. Spiteri, 11. Culnane, 12. Caruana, 13. Busuttil, 14. Marzella, 15. Sultana. SUBS :- 16. Borda, 17. Webb, 18. Mason, 19. Gasan, 20. Haycock, 21. Finlayson, 22. Attard.

The squad is in good spirits and will do their best to beat a side 17 places above them in the World rankings. After their victory over Croatia last Saturday, Malta has moved into 49th place in the world ranking list.

A number of Maltese residing in Brussels are expected to attend and give their support to the Maltese team at the King Badouin Stadium.
