The second round of the Wilkinson Sword’s Winter League starts tomorrow morning at the Tal-Qroqq Pool with the big match between local eternal rivals Neptunes and Sliema.
It is a big match in all aspects for both sides. Apart from the rivalry that exists between the two sides, Neptunes will be seeking to extend their already healthy lead at the top of the standings, while Sliema hope to win to start bridging the four-point gap that currently separates the two sides.
Neptunes have registered a 100 per cent record in their first round matches, winning them all, while Sliema, apart from losing against their rivals, also fell a cropper against San Giljan in their last encounter.
It is definitely a match worth watching and which should attract a sizeable crowd to the Tal-Qroqq Pool, despite it being the first of a morning programme.
In the second match, Sirens will be considered firm favourites to bag the two points in their match against bottom placed Marsaxlokk who have yet to score their first point.
Sirens will also be hoping for a Sliema win in the opening encounter to see their own chances for the winter title revived.
