Information regarding the Mellieha Bay Hotel published on a French website and reproduced in this paper last Sunday might have misled readers.
Admittedly, the French webpage gave the impression that the Mellieha Bay Hotel had been taken over by Plein Vent, but hotel general manager Franz Tabone told this paper that this is definitely not the case.
Plein Vent began their Summer 2006 Operation at the Mellieha Bay Hotel on Thursday. Under the scheme, which will run up to the middle of October, they will have a 25 per cent allocation of the hotel’s 313 rooms, on a partially guaranteed contract.
The hotel will not be entirely French speaking, as the majority of its clients are still British.
Mr Tabone also pointed out that the hotel is open all year round.
