In their first group match valid for the Slovakia Cup, which is being played in Piestany, Slovakia, the Malta Under 18 team was narrowly beaten by the host country, Slovakia, yesterday.

According to reports from Piestany, the Maltese played soundly throughout and although ending on the wrong end of a solitary goal scoreline, our players gave a good account of themselves.

They are due to play their second match against the United States today, followed by their last group match on Thursday, against Hungary.
