Malta was eliminated from the 2006-2007 UEFA Under 21 championship when it lost yesterday’s second leg in Georgia 2-1. The Georgians, therefore, qualified on a 4-2 aggregate.
Reports from Georgia stated that the Malta played quite well throughout the 90 minutes and on the whole it was a good effort by our team.
It was a replica of the first leg a fortnight ago at Ta’ Qali, as Georgia took a 2-0 lead with goals in the first half and on the changeover.
Then Malta reacted and Dyson Falzon managed to net a consolation goal seven minutes from time.
