The Xaghra United Striker Sylvan Galea has won the Melita Digital Player of the Month award for February while Anthony Portelli of Nadur Youngsters won the award for March.

Gifted with speed sense of opportunism the United striker was a central figure in his team’s appearances against Ghajnsielem, S.K. Victoria Wanderers and Nadur Youngsters.

Galea started his career with Zebbug Rovers at nine years of age and then joined the nursery of St. Venera Lightnings. Galea returned with his home team which with whom won various Cups and the Gozitan First Division League for the Season 2003/2004.

Portelli won the award on the back of his consistent good displays which helped his team regain leadership of the On Vol First Division League.

Portelli gifted with agility and technique on the ball complemented by his goal scoring ability was fundamental in the Youngsters success against Kercem Ajax and Xewkija Tigers.

Starting his career at the age of nine he played with his home and won the GFA Best Player of the Year in the Under 16 Category and Under 21 category for the seasons 1999/2000 and 2003/2004 respectively.

With his home team Portelli has won various honours including three first division titles.
