The Middlesea Valletta Life National League continued at the Eden SuperBowl, where week 16 saw leaders Aercomms pick up an easy 0-8 win over last placed Swoosh, and chasers Fina First also claim a 100% victory over Royal Shock to keep up the pressure on the table toppers.

Ramis stay third after beating eighth team Right Deal 2-6, while fourth placed Fina Excel also took six points against Sammy's Embroideries to edge the top four further ahead of the pack. In other matches, Interwetten Alley Catz went down 2-6 at the hands of relegation probables Fireballs, and New Blood (7th) beat Globalair Travel (9th) in another 6-2 scoreline.

Fourteen points still separate Aercomms from the rest of Div I, after they scooped all eight points from their match against league losers Swoosh. The leaders dealt the first killer blow with a big 870 against a 700 from their lesser opponents, and continued the rout with a 766-719 in game two to double their lead. Aercomms almost finished by surrendering two careless points to Swoosh, but just managed to hang on to win the low-scoring game three 671-660. Ray Falzon Reale (Aercomms), 617. Tiziana Carannante (Swoosh), 516.

Fina First were the only other top flight side to clean up in week 16, taking apart Royal Shock for a convincing 8-0 victory. Dennis Mercieca (Fina First), 627. Joe Cassar (Royal Shock), 529.

Ramis remained in third place after their 2-6 win against Right Deal (8th), a manageable six points down on Fina First but ten points ahead of Fina Excel in the struggle for a placing. John Balani (Ramis), 622. Franco Ricci (Right Deal), 539.

Fina Excel also scooped a majority win against Sammy's Embroideries, shooting the highest team series of the week (2,366) in the process. Neil Sullivan (Fina Excel), 649, bowler of the week. Manwel Saliba (Sammy's Embroideries), 581.

Fireballs (11th) pulled of the surprise result of the week by beating fifth placed Interwetten Alley Cats in another 6-2 result this week. Liliana Said (Fireballs), 584, bowler of the week. Nathan Brimmer (IW Alley Catz), 559.

New Blood took the lion's share in yet another 6-2 result, ninth placed Globalair Travel the unlucky losers. George Ferris (New Blood), 573. Clive Saliba (Globalair Travel), 542.
