Former several times Malta champion Gordon Asciak is hoping to make a short comeback during the forthcoming Davis Cup tournament in Malta in July.

The news was confirmed by Malta Tennis Association general secretary Dr David Farrugia Sacco, who told The Malta Independent that the 44-year-old Asciak is training hard to be able to get back honourably on court.

Asciak is hoping to partner his son Matthew, who is now the Malta champion, in the doubles and thus become the first father and son to have represented a country in the history of the Davis Cup.

Malta’s national team taking part in the forthcoming event, will consist also of Daniel Ceross and, possibly, Mateja Pecotic.
