The Football Awards organised by NET TV programme Replay will this year be held on 11 June at the Viset Valletta Waterfront.

This was announced yesterday by the presenters of the Gala Night, during which the best footballers and coaches of the past season will be presented with prizes.

The presenters of the event will be John Busuttil and Robert Cutajar, who are also the Replay programme presenters, as well as Net TV’s well known presenters Louise Tedesco and Christian Micallef.

There will be three finalists in each category and the jury will include journalists. Voting is to be made on a computerised system and the winners will be announced there and then during the Gala Night.

Busuttil announced that there will be awards in the following categories: Best Goalkeeper, Best Defender, Best Midfielder, Best Striker, Best coach, Best player Under 21, Best Net Stars player, Best Female player, Best Gozitan player, Best goal and Best save.

There will also be a special prize for the Best Support which is to be sponsored by Coca Cola. Voters have to send an SMS on 50617093 as from today.

Cutajar added that they had also invited all the media to reward the winners of their own Players of the Year, during the Gala Night.

He added that the Night will offer various surprises to those present and the TV audience, among which will be an original, state-of-the-art stage on the far side of the Waterfront’s Laguna.
