The Secretariat for Small Business and the self-employed published a report yesterday on the work carried out by the secretariat over the past 12 months.

“After last year’s publication of the working plan from June 2005-2006, we are now publishing a report on the work that has actually been done by the government, work that was coordinated by the Secretariat for Small Business and the Self Employed,” parliamentary secretary Edwin Vassallo said yesterday.

“This has led to a synergy between government departments in their work in favour of small businesses and the self-employed, who were also instrumental in creating new jobs.”

The report: The Government close to Small Business and the Self Employed – What has been done, gives an account of the government’s work for small business and the self-employed and covers 43 areas.

“This document shows that the government’s work is aimed at the different needs of different sectors,” Mr Vassallo said.
