Floriana and Mosta face each other this evening in what promises to be a big battle to avoid relegation.
The match starts at 6pm and it will be followed by the clash between Msida SJ and Valletta which starts at 8pm.
The latter two teams have no further interest in the proceedings and it will be their final outing of the season - both are also out of the FA Trophy. Msida will, however, do their best to try and achieve a historic first ever win in the Championship Pool, having failed by a whisker last week against Sliema.
The other match is undoubtedly worth watching and it should be a pulsating battle between Floriana and Mosta.
At present, Floriana lead the standings on 17 points, one ahead of Pieta and two ahead of Mosta.
This means that if Mosta win this evening, they will save their status and probably condemn Floriana to next year’s first division, although the Greens will have to wait for the outcome of the Pieta-Hamrun match, where Pieta should be considered firm favourites to collect the points.
The Greens will be handicapped with the forced absence of Christian Cassar and Julian Briffa both of whom suspended in midweek.
Both teams disappointed last week. Floriana only forced a draw against Pieta with an equaliser in the dying moments of the match, while Mosta were held to a goalless draw by the already relegated Hamrun Spartans.
