Malta Independent Sunday, 14 May 2006, 00:00 Last update: about 14 years ago

Bank of Valletta and Middlesea Valletta Life are supporting an art exhibition by the Six Soldier Artists, also known as “The Fort St Elmo School of Painters” – a name that identifies with the place where five of the six artists commenced their military training.

This is the third triennial exhibition by Brigadier Claude Gaffiero, Brigadier Maurice Calleja, Colonel Ronnie de Renzy Channer, Major Philip Zammit Briffa, Major Martin Scicluna and Captain Eric Gerada Azzopardi. All the proceeds from the sale of the works of art will be donated to the Malta Red Cross Society.

The bank’s sponsorship was presented to exhibition coordinator Martin Scicluna by Bank of Valletta head of product and business development Joe Zammit, and MSV’s sponsorship was presented by MSV Life general manager David G Curmi, General Manager.

The exhibition was launched at the Palazzo Santa Sofia in Mdina by President Emeritus Censu Tabone on Friday and is open to the public today and tomorrow from 10am to 4pm.
