The Malta Cultural Institute is holding its last concert for the season on Monday 5 June at 7pm at the Casino Maltese in Valletta.
Taking part in the concert are clarinettist Stephen Dimech, accompanied by pianist Maki Yagi.
Stephen is in great demand as a clarinettist; he has performed for the MCI both as a soloist and as a member of the Denner Clarinet Quartet.
Maki Yagi has won several Japanese national piano competitions. She has studied with some of the most renowned professors and has performed in Tokyo, Budapest, Hungary, Austria and Prague, among other places. At present, she teaches piano at Fransina Abela Brincat Piano School.
Soprano Louiselle Pace Gouder is making a name for herself as an accomplished singer. She has performed in several prestigious venues all over Malta. At present she is studying with Antoinette Miggiani.
Pianist Dr Romina Morrow obtained her Advanced Certificate of the Royal Schools of Music and ALCM (T D) under the guidance of Fransina Abela and perfected her technique with Lucia Micallef. She also studies the pipe organ under the tutorship of Mro Albert Borg.
The Dance Workshop at the National Pool Complex in Gzira, is one of Malta’s leading dance centres. It was founded by Theresa Lungaro-Mifsud in 1999 with the objective of providing a creative home for thinking dancers and physically confident young people.
In 2005, The Dance Workshop was the first ballet school in Malta to be awarded recognition by the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing as an Approved Centre.
