Ever improving Maltese athlete Danica Spiteri won the ladies’ Triathlon race for European Small Nations, held in Malta yesterday. Spiteri clocked 2 hours,20 minutes and 29 seconds ahead of Gaby Andres from Luxembourg and Monaco’s Alexandra Barbero.

Male athlete Mark Zammit placed second, after Luxembourg’s Tom Carrier, finishing the race in two hours and 23 seconds.

Mark Zammit, Michael Gellel and Dermot Galea won the team event for Malta, beating Monaco and Liechtenstein

Five of the eight Small States of Europe took part.
