The Captain Album is a newly launched CD of 12 easy-listening, instrumental compositions for guitar, composed between 1960 and 1999, by Mro Carmel “The Captain” Muscat, whose music is known not only in Malta but worldwide.

Joe S. Grech’s guitarwork is superb and as the producer/performer on this CD he has cleverly, evocatively and empathetically captured the mood of each piece – the ticking clock, the wild tarantella, Live and Love, Tango d’Amour and Jacquelene.

Mr Grech, who is one of Malta’s foremost guitarists, first became Mro Muscat’s willing pupil at the age of 16, when he was a member of the group New Cuorey and now, 35 years on, they are still friends, although Joe remains “in awe” of Carmel’s musical abilities.
