Malta and European champion Alex Borg beat Clint Grima 5-0 in the final of the last Malta Open ranking tournament at the Peace Band Club in Naxxar.

Frame scores (Borg first): 66-48, 73-4, 58-49, 68-15, 112-10. Borg compiled a 107 break in the last frame and had another half century break in the third frame, clearing the table with a 54.

Thanks to this win, Borg has kept his No 1 place in the ranking list. He has held this place for the last five years. Grima, who had won the third ranking tournament and finished second in this event, has moved to No. 5 in the list.

The season will come to an end next Wednesday when Borg will be meeting Simon Zammit in the Premier League final which is to be held at the Peace Band Club in Naxxar, starting at 6pm.
