Malta Independent Sunday, 28 May 2006, 00:00 Last update: about 13 years ago

Justin Falzon, the Gozitan artist who is currently attending a two-year course at the Lorenzo de' Medici Art Institute in Florence, was chosen together with other students, to take part in an exhibition at the Uffizzi Centre.

The exhibition was held last month by Florencimento Art, a non-profit organisation based in Florence, an affiliated representative of Cittadini del Mondo. Since October 2004, Florencimento has organised four different exhibitions in Florence and one in Sardegna. Currently it hosts 100 artists from 15 different countries and 10 per cent of the proceeds are donated to ATA (Tumour Association in Tuscany).

Students from USA, Ireland, Italy, Austria, Sweden, Japan, Cuba, Korea, France, England, Holland and Malta took part in the exhibition. Submissions were categorised into photography, sculpture, fashion painting, drawing-print making, and miscellaneous.

Justin Falzon represented Malta with two modern still-life, acrylic on paper 60x40cms.
