San Gwann Bocci Club Win Malta championship

San Gwann Bocci Club are the new champions of the Malta Pool Association – the first ever title in the club’s history.

During the season, the team showed consistency and always maintained their lead ahead of rivals Top Gun. They finished six points ahead of Top Gun thanks to the two victories in the direct matches.

San Gwann also claimed the Super Cup as they beat Top Gun Bar 10-9.

The San Gwann team consisted of Christ Tabone, Clint Azzopardi, Iro Vella, Adrian Camilleri, Jesmond Schembri, Mario Cutajar, Kevin D’Agostino and Rudolph Gellel.

Taste Good Bar were third while St Michael’s Bar A, Cospicua Rangers FC and Jesmond Sporting Club were relegated to the first division.

Espadon Bar A won the first division title with Paola Wolves A finishing second. St George’s Band Club were third. These three teams were promoted to next year’s Premier Division. Pandora Bar, San Gwann Bocci Club B and Trust Pub were relegated to the second division.

Espadon Bar B, who won the second division title, were promoted to the first division, along with St Vincent De Paule and St George’s Bocci Club. San Gwann Bocci Club C was relegated to the third division.

Domus Kids returned to the fold after one year and won the third division championship. They were promoted to the second division, as were Downtown Bar, Civic Club and St Joseph Band Club, who finished second, third and fourth respectively.
