Malta Independent Wednesday, 31 May 2006, 00:00 Last update: about 12 years ago

The Malta Transport Authority is launching a lottery called Board a Bus and Win, the primary aim of which is to reward patrons who use public transport, and at the same time promote cleaner bus termini by giving an incentive to refrain from throwing tickets on the ground.

The lottery, which will take place every month, will start in June.

To participate, public transport patrons are requested to send the bus tickets they have purchased during the course of a month, with their name, identity card number and contact telephone number written on the back, to The Malta Transport Authority c/o PO Box 51, Msida by the 5th day of the following month.

Alternatively, tickets can be deposited at the Malta Transport Authority Offices in Sa Maison Road Floriana by not later than 4.30pm of the fifth day of the following month, ie tickets bought throughout June, and up to the last day of June, have to reach the postal box or the ADT offices by 5 July.

Day tickets and prepaid tickets are all eligible for the lottery.

The cash prizes will be Lm300 for the first prize, Lm150 for the second prize and Lm50 for the third prize. These will be drawn in the second week of the following month in the presence of Lotteries and Gaming Authority representatives.
