The Malta Under-18 team were beaten 3-1 by Poland today in a match valid for the 7th International Tournament of Paestum, in Italy.
The Maltese played a satisfactory match, more so when considering they had to play with ten men after Jonathan Pearson was sent off in the 42nd minute.
In the second period Poland went 2-0 ahead, before Tyron Farrugia reduced the deficit three minutes from time. However, the Poles restored their two-goal advantage soon afterwards for a final 3-1 scoreline.
Malta will be playing against Italy today. On Monday the Italians beat the Poles in the opening group match.
