Simon Camilleri won the second edition of the Pro Am Snooker tournament when in the final he beat Guzi Grech 5-1 (58-72, 65-39, 67-49, 60-12, 76-11 and 71-51). Grech made a 49 break in the third frame.

In the match for third and fourth place, European champion Alex Borg beat young Thurston Grixti 3-1. Thurston Grixti won the first frame 87-15, but Alex Borg responded with three straight wins of 86-63, 65-51 and 87-52. In the last frame Borg made an 80 break.

The President and the Secretary of the Malta Billiard & Snooker Association, Dr David Farrugia Sacco and Paul Galea respectively, handed all the trophies and the Lm500 prize money to the winners of this tournament.

Two other honours went to Thurston Grixti for being the best Under 18 Player and Guzi Grech for holding the highest break of the tournament.

Sixty two players have taken part in this competition, five more than in the first edition.

After the two tournaments, the first 10 places in the Pro Am ranking list read as follows: 1. Alex Borg (1,870 points); 2. Simon Camilleri (1,600 points); 3. Guzi Grech (1,560 points); 4 Duncan Bezzina (1,500 points); 5. Thurston Grixti (1,190 points); 6. Frans Mintoff (1,190 points); 7. Simon Zammit (1,140 points); 8. Jean Pierre Woods (1,120 points); 9. Clint Grima (1,110 points) and 10th Chris Azzopardi with 1,070 points.

The first 16 players only will be seeded for next year`s Pro Am.
