Environment and Rural Affairs Minister George Pullicino and PN whip Mario Galea yesterday field for libel against opposition whip Joe Mizzi.

Mr Pullicino and Mr Galea filed the suit against Mr Mizzi in connection with a press statement the latter had issued following a parliamentary speech by Mr Pullicino on the proposed alteration to the boundaries of development zones.

The two PN MPs said that the statement issued by Mr Mizzi was defamatory and libellous. They therefore requested the court to declare the statement to be libellous and to order the defendant to pay damages.
