Cars On fire in Zebbug and St Paul’s Bay

No one was injured when cars went up in flames within hours of each other in Zebbug yesterday morning.

A third car was also extensively damaged by fire in St Paul’s Bay just before dawn.

The police were informed at 1.20am that a car, motorcycle and front door of a residence were on fire in Main Street, Zebbug.

The Civil Protection Department was called in and the fire was put out within a few minutes. Another car was damaged as the flames spread.

A few hours later, the police were informed that another car, which was parked in Mamo Street, also in Zebbug, was also on fire.

The police rushed to the scene and put the fire out there too.

Later, at about 5.15am, the police were informed that a car was on fire in Glieba Street, St Paul’s Bay. The fire was put out by residents.

Duty Magistrate Joe Cassar was informed about the cases and appointed several court experts to assist him in the inquiry.

The police are investigating.
