A man was jailed for three months, suspended for a year, yesterday after he admitted threatening two policemen with a bread knife while he was drunk.
Anthony Pace, 49, from Marsa, was accused of threatening a police sergeant and a police constable with a bread knife at Marsa Football Club on Monday evening. He was also accused of carrying the knife without a licence issued by the Police Commissioner. Pace pleaded guilty to the charges brought against him and magistrate Lawrence Quintano jailed him for three months, suspended for a year.
Police inspector Mario Tonna prosecuted while Dr Roberto Montalto and Dr Jason Azzopardi appeared for the defendant.
