The two Maltese teams taking part in the Blackpool world championships again posted positive results yesterday.
After winning their four matches against N. Ireland, France, and Ireland, the senior Malta team yesterday beat Spain 15-6, but then lost its first match against South Africa 12-9.
After six matches, Malta is in second place, just behind Wales, who remained unbeaten.
Today, the Maltese team will be playing against Wales, England, West Indies and India.
The junior team also won its first four matches, beating N. Ireland 12-3, Scotland 9-6, Ireland 8-7 and Channel Islands 11-4. The best players for Malta were Malcolm Azzopardi and Miguel Falzon.
The team is expected to play more matches today.
