The Malta Dental Technologists Association attended the annual General Meeting of the European Federation of Dental Technologists (Laboratory Owners). It was held over a two-day period in Budapest Hungary, where delegates from 24 EU Member States and the USA (as observers) participated.

High on the agenda as prime issues of discussion were:

a) Globalisation and the effect on the industry of dental technology

b) EU directives related to the Profession, distinctly the Medical Devices Directive

c) And the Leonardo Project on Educational standardisation.

John Salomone Reynaud, as president of the MDTA, addressed the organisation’s views and position on the items discussed with a brief report on the current matters of concern regarding the Profession in Malta.
