Court: Accused Of attempted car break-in

A 23-year-old from Swieqi appeared in court yesterday to answer charges of attempting to break into a car.

Kevin Mifsud pleaded not guilty to attempting to break into a Peugeot 205 in Albert Town, Marsa, on Tuesday at 10.45am. The vehicle belongs to Joseph Debattista.

He also pleaded not guilty to causing between Lm10 and Lm50 worth of damage to the vehicle and to driving

recklessly.

The court, presided over by magistrate Abigail Lofaro, agreed with the demand made by the prosecution, led by inspector Joseph Borg, for Mr Mifsud to be remanded in custody.

Dr Anthony Cutajar appeared for the defence.
