The 16th Malta Jazz Festival returns with an eclectic mixture of international and local artists in the glorious setting of Grand Harbour.
The MJF opens on Friday, 21 July with local band Noir playing the music of Kris Spiteri followed by an up-and-coming British band Thabani, who play a mixture of soul and funk. Headlining the first night is the legendary Blues Brothers Band.
The second night features three foreign acts. Emily Bezar opens the evening, followed by two legendary names from the jazz world: Trio Tunnels features Percy Jones on bass while head-
lining the night are Bill Bruford’s Earthworks.
The third and final night of the festival sees local percussionist Renzo Spiteri opening the night with an ensemble of special foreign guests, followed by Ian Ritchie’s Soho Project. The MJF comes to a close with a rock icon, Alan Parsons with his band (Alan Parsons Live Project)
