A 46-year-old man was yesterday charged with assaulting a local warden on Wednesday.

Joseph Sacco, from Kirkop, pleaded not guilty to assaulting local warden Natasha Diamanidis in High Street Hamrun at 4.55pm on Wednesday.

He was also accused of impeding the warden from carrying out her duties. Magistrate Dennis Montebello set bail against a personal guarantee of Lm100.

Police inspector Mario Tonna prosecuted while Dr Jose Herrera and Dr Roberto Montalto appeared for the accused.
