The Board of Directors of Maltacom appointed David Kay as the new Chief Executive Officer last week.
During the last 20 years Mr Kay has served in senior management positions with the Cable and Wireless Group of Companies in the United Kingdom, Hong Kong and Latvia.
His most recent appointment was chief executive officer and director of Macau Telecom where he managed the company’s transition from an incumbent monopoly to a robust player in a fully-liberalised and competitive environment.
Mr Kay has also been a member of the boards of telecommunication companies in Indonesia, Fiji and China.
Maltacom also announced that Dr Francis Galea Salomone has been reconfirmed companysecretary. Dr Galea Salomone was appointed company secretary in June 2005.
Prior to his appointment as Company Secretary he served as director at Technical Management Services Limited, a wholly owned Maltacom subsidiary.
