The General Workers’ Union has been asked by the International Federation of Musicians to join its ranks as a representative of Maltese musicians.

Local musicians, through the GWU, have been given the opportunity to participate in a European social dialogue between employers and employees in the musical sector.

The union said that this will be a unique opportunity for all Maltese musicians to meet colleagues from all over the world. The International Federation is very active and it is involved in a number of European countries.

The GWU currently represents the musicians of the National Orchestra but membership is open to all musicians.
