English language winter courses end successfully
The English language winter courses held in Valletta and in Victoria, Gozo, organised by the Royal British Legion have come to a successful end. During these courses primary and secondary school students covered various aspects of the English language including creative writing, grammar and comprehension.
The students attending these courses had the opportunity to learn in a relaxed environment, making new friends as the weeks went by, while improving their knowledge of the English language.
Applications are now open for the English language summer courses for all ages (primary and secondary), both in Malta and Gozo. The course, made up of eight units (lessons), are based on a continuous assessment rather than an exam at the end. Certificates, as well as book prizes will be given not only to the best students but to all the students to reward them for their efforts.
Places for these morning courses that start in July are limited. For further details and to register please phone 2133 8780 / 2164 1486 / 2156 3420.

This talk will focus on problems such as drug abuse, juvenile delinquency and suicidal tendencies, how to recognise the symptoms, explore how to cope with the effects of such problems, and explain what social services are available to youths who experience these problems.
Adolescence is the time when a person develops his/her own identity, choosing from a vast array of sexual, moral, social and educational paths. It is a time when certainties are in short supply. Ms Cortis will discuss adolescence in the light of bio-social, psychological and cognitive development.
Everybody is invited to attend, especially youths and parents. There will be a question and answer session at the end of the talk.
