The final MFA award of the season – the Footballer of the Year – is expected to be named next Thursday during the forthcoming Council meeting.

The other awards related to the various divisions will also be announced during the meeting.

In the preliminary voting, Michael Galea of Birkirkara was leading Andrew Cohen of Hibernians by two points.

The commission now presents its findings for approval by the Council. National team and club participation and the disciplinary record of the contestants are also taken into consideration.
