A man was yesterday accused of slightly injuring a woman and stealing her mobile and cash in Pieta.

Habesh Ismael, 34, from Mosta, was accused of slightly injuring Annabelle Camilleri and stealing cash and her mobile on Tuesday afternoon. He was also accused of threatening Ms Camilleri, breaching the peace and relapsing.

Before magistrate Dennis Montebello, he pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against him. He was granted bail against a deposit of Lm500 and a personal guarantee of Lm500.

Police inspector Mario Bonello prosecuted while Dr Leon Bencini appeared for the defendant.
