Sir Bob Geldof, philanthropist, musician and songwriter, wooed the sizeable crowd that gathered yesterday at Fort Manoel for the YMCA charity concert.

The former Boomtown Rats band member took the stage after a host of local artistes and gave an energetic and very warm performance.

Sir Bob took the stage, speaking to the audience while playing, after various tribute bands to U2, Coldplay and, the pick of the bunch, Killer Queen. Ira Losco and Wintermoods also entertained the crowd.

The proceeds of the concert will go to the YMCA Homeless Shelter project.
