The Malta Union of Teachers Council yesterday sent its comments on the government’s legislation to amend the Education Act.

It said that its comments focused on various clauses in the amendments but particularly on the formation of a Teachers’ Council.

The MUT Council said that it did not agree with how this was being proposed and sent its comments on how this should eventually be set up.

It said that it received a copy of the amendments just a few days ago and preferred that these were discussed before these were tabled in parliament, adding that it had no option but to send its comments at this time.
