Resources and Infrastructure Minister Ninu Zammit yesterday said that during the last three years, the south of Malta was given its due importance as shown by embellishment work carried out in village squares and recreational areas.
Work carried out at the Wied Babu belvedere, which is nearing completion, is another example of the government’s policies, the minister said when visiting the site.
The 750m-long belvedere which overlooks Wied Babu, limits of Zurrieq, will be used by tourists and residents as the street leads to Hagar Qim and Mnajdra temples and Wied iz-Zurrieq.
Minister Zammit said that the landscape’s characteristics will be preserved as the belvedere will be set in a rustic style.
The second phase of the project will cover the street between Wied iz-Zurrieq and Hagar Qim.
