A 14-year-old boy was reported to be in a critical condition on Saturday evening after he fell into a swimming pool earlier in the afternoon.

The boy was brought out of the pool and taken to hospital, the police said.

Duty Magistrate Giovanni Grixti is heading the inquiry.

A 12-year-old boy was grievously injured yesterday after he was hit by a car while crossing Dwaret Hal-Ghaxaq, also known as the Ghaxaq bypass, according to a police statement.

The boy was hit by an Isuzu van, being driven in the direction of Zejtun by a 41-year-old man from Tarxien.

He was taken to St Luke’s Hospital by ambulance where he was certified to be in a critical condition.

Magistrate Miriam Hayman appointed various experts to help her in the inquiry.

The police are investigating the incident.
