Tonio Fenech, Parliamentary Secretary in the Finance Ministry, is in Brussels to participate in the Council of Economics and Finance Ministers (ECOFIN) of the 25 member states of the European Union.

The Council will be discussing the effects of the reformed Stability and Growth Pact and the work programme of the Finnish Presidency. Member States will be discussing the outcome of the summit between the European Union and the United States of America and possible dialogues between the EU and economic partners. The Council is also expected to approve the adoption of the euro by Slovenia.

Mr Fenech will be accompanied by the Permanent Secretary in the Finance Ministry, Alfred Camilleri, and the Head of Secretariat, Alan Caruana.
