Queues at Joint Office
Around 8,000 applications are awaiting resolution at the Joint Office following a call for applications to register land tenure, Justice Minister Tonio Borg told Noel Farrugia.
The minister said that the number of architects at the Joint Office has been increased to deal with this backlog but he claimed that most of the cases could not be resolved immediately because of problems between different people claiming the same piece of land, or because they had not filed their particulars properly.
