Between 12 and 13 July, Malta Enterprise organised the participation of six companies in the ICT sector at the leading outsourcing exhibition in London, Outsource World.
This was Malta’s second time participation at this event.
Following the encouraging results achieved in 2005, more efforts were invested to promote the Maltese companies. In fact, the stand presentation was upgraded and on the second day of the event a country presentation was delivered. During this seminar, in addition to the presentation by Malta Enterprise, each company delegate had the opportunity to present the services provided by the company.
The companies that participated at this event were 6p, Ascent Software, Castile Resources, Computime, Crimsonwing and Megabyte. The services provided by the companies included software development, business intelligence expertise, network services, maintenance and support of IT systems, consultancy and bespoke implementations.
Other exhibitors at the fair were from India, Romania, Jamaica, Hungary and Israel.
Most of the Maltese companies reported good sales leads with UK companies that were interested to look at near shore destinations for ICT outsourcing.
The participation by Malta Enterprise at this leading event in the UK forms part of the strategic approach to promote the ICT sector internationally. Other events held during 2006 included participation at CEBIT in Germany, Taqnya Fair in Libya and symposiums in London, Frankfurt and Cairo.
Moreover, during November, Malta Enterprise will be leading a delegation to Scotland to participate at the annual convention of the call centres association that will gather over 700 delegates from the leading call centres in the world.
