Illegal immigrants, housed in closed detention centres managed by the armed forces, have caused Lm10,272 worth of damage from the beginning of the year to the end of June, Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi told Adrian Vassallo.
Dr Gonzi said the damage included damage caused to toilets, showers, sinks and wall tiles; damage to furniture used in the eating centres and in the clinic; damage caused to doors and gates; damage to the drainage, water and electricity systems; damage to beds and mattresses and damage to walls and table tennis.
