Nwoko, Chizoba May sign for Scotland’s Falkirk

Nigerian striker Udo Nwoko, who is on the books of Hibernians and who impressed last season while on loan with relegated Mosta, as well as Peter Anizoba Chizoba of St Patrick, could be playing in the Scottish Premier League this season.

A report on the BBC website said yesterday that the two players are being linked with a move to the Scottish club, though Anizoba is only mentioned in a section named ‘speculation’, which includes names of players probably on the wanted list of the club.

As to Nwoko, the report made it clear that Falkirk want the Hibs striker, but club boss John Hughes has hinted – without specifying – that there is a problem in trying to complete the transfer. In fact, they will only know whether they will be able to complete the move by tomorrow, that is before Saturday’s Scottish Premier League curtain raiser.

Nwoko has just completed a one-week trial with the club in a pre-season tour of Holland and he left a good impression.

The player’s agent, Massimo Franchie, said: “We are still in negotiations. It’s more of the final pieces of the transfer with stuff such as compensation to be sorted out as his personal terms won’t be a problem.”
