Vodafone Takes handset recycling campaign to Beer Festival

Malta Independent Friday, 28 July 2006, 00:00 Last update: about 12 years ago

Vodafone Malta Limited is once again sponsoring the Farsons Great Beer Festival, taking place at the National Park in Ta’ Qali between today and 6 August. This year, visitors to the Vodafone stand at the festival will not only be able to view the latest mobile technologies but will also have the opportunity to contribute to a better environment by returning old mobile handsets and their accessories for recycling. Vodafone is giving away a free linen bag with every mobile phone handed in.

“Vodafone has for many years played a front line role in promoting cultural, artistic and social events in Malta. This commitment to providing the Maltese public with diverse events has also included support for the Farsons Great Beer Festival, both directly and through the participation of several artists which Vodafone supports, such as Winter Moods, Ira Losco and Chiara. This year, Vodafone is not only renewing its support for this very popular event but is also extending the opportunity for visitors to do something positive for the environment and return their old mobiles for recycling,” said Vodafone’s corporate affairs manager, Deborah Grech.

Vodafone is the only Maltese mobile operator that offers this recycling service. Apart from the environmental benefits of handset recycling all the revenue generated from this campaign is being donated to YMCA Valletta.

Customers who visit the Vodafone stand at the Farsons Beer Festival will be able to get information about current offers, products and services, as well as have the opportunity to earn prizes.

For further information about this campaign “Save the Environment for our Children – Recycle your old mobile phone” customers can call 247 from their Vodafone or 2148-2820 from any other line. To contact Customer Service, one may also send an email to customerservice.
