With 6-2 scorelines across the board in the opening week, the Middlesea Valletta Life league being played at the Eden SuperBowl had to wait until week two for the first full point wins of the new season.

Leaders and defending champions Aercomms took all eight from newly promoted Faces, while Sagio Investments beat Redwell Heating 8-0 to match Aercomms on points, and it was also full points for Fina First over Ramis.

In other matches, HSBC improved to a 2-6 victory against Royal Shock, and Right Deal came out on the better end of a 3-5 result with Sammy’s Embroideries. The match between Vintage and La Spigola ended a 4-all draw.

Aercomms’ have their superior pinfall to thank for keeping them on top of Division I, ahead of Sagio Investments who are level on 14 points after copycat results in the first two weeks. Aercomms met Faces in week two for what turned into a training session for them, the champs rolling off with a good 788-682 opening win before doubling their lead with a 847-745 win in game two. This put them a big 208 ahead as game three commenced and a match win was surely secure, but Aercomms went one better by also winning the game (812-716) to conclude Faces’ thrashing. Sagio Investments’ full-pointer came against Redwell Heating in what was also a one-sided affair throughout. Sagio were 66 pins ahead after game one which they won 735-669, before doubling their lead in the second which was the closest of the series, finishing 739-708. Having suffered a 6-2 defeat in week one, Fina First got back to their winning ways in week two with a 0-8 hammering of Ramis. Game one was touch and go all the way to the final shots, but Fina only just managed to prevail, clinching it 685-693. They strengthened their grip on the match from game two onwards, winning 673-783 to make it 0-4, and they completed the whitewash with a 737-778 finale in game three. HSBC have improved to a mid-table position thanks to their 2-6 victory over Royal Shock this week. It was an uneasy start for HSBC, game one ending 743-686 in Royal Shock’s favour, but HSBC equalled the challenge with their 677-674 win in game two, taking a pin advantage of 40 into the deciding game. Right Deal got the better of Sammy’s Embroideries in their clash, in spite of getting off to a poor start by heavily losing the first of the set (781-689). They drew level with a 757-790 winner in game two, before stealing the match with a 658-717 win in game three. A 4-4 tie was the final result of the match between Vintage and La Spigola, both teams shooting inconsistently over the series. La Spigola narrowly won game one 686-701 and then also took game two 709-793. La Spigola’s 99 pin advantage must have bolstered their hopes for a match win going into game three, but those hopes were quickly dashed as they slumped to a poor 662 against Vintage’s 788, the latter forcing the draw with a 27 advantage on the series (2183-2156).
