Malta's Under 16 side won two and lost the other in the qualifying round of the Promotion Cup (Group A) being held in Andorra.

They finished second in the Group and will now be meeting Group B winners Luxembourg in the semi-finals this evening (7.30pm).

After losing 62-35 (14-12, 14-6, 20-11, 14-6) to Cyprus, the Maltese boys beat home side Andorra 69-56 (24-11, 15-8, 18-16, 12-21) and then beat San Marino narrowly 58-55 (16-20, 17-6, 9-11, 16-18) to make sure of qualifying for the semi-finals.
