Chetcuti in bad form Malta’s Double Trap champion William Chetcuti was in bad form in Zagreb, Croatia, yesterday as he could only finish a distant 33rd in the world championship.
Chetcuti managed rounds of 45, 40 and 44 to finish with a total of 129, very far away from the top six shooters who made it to the barrage.
It was a somewhat disappointing performance by the Maltese youngster who is used to register scores much better than those he registered yesterday.
The winner was Vitaly Fokeev of Russia who had rounds of 45, 48 and 47 to finish with a total of 40. He just made it to the barrage (final) after winning a shoot-off with Daniele Dispingo of Italy. It was in the final that he had a perfect round of 50, to finish one clay ahead of Hu Binyuan of China, who hit 189 clays. Richard Faulds of Great Britain was third with a score of 187. The latter also hit a straight in the third round, but then had a rather poor (45) round in the final which put him out of contention.
