Hamrun Spartans FC youth nursery have just returned from a very successful trip to Western Wales where they took part in the Wales International tournament held in Aberystwyth.

The group, made up of 46 players divided into four categories, had a very intensive programme. Playing a total of 30 matches in five days was no easy task and this left its mark on both players and officials. However the experience gained competing at a continuously high tempo was invaluable. The tournament was played in glorious sunshine making the trip very enjoyable. The boys’ efforts were finally rewarded with the Overall Fair Play Award.

The Hamrun group was led by chairman Victor Cassar and head coaches Stefan Sultana and Marco Grech. Two other groups, one from Melita FC nursery and the other from St Aloysius, also took part in the same tournament.
