Two tourists were injured yesterday afternoon after a horse bolted in Floriana.

The incident took place at 4.15pm in Great Siege Square, corner with St Anne Street, when the horse was pulling a carriage with a family of four tourists. It is understood that at some point the horse bolted and the carriage overturned.

The mother, one of the sons and the cabby were taken to St Luke’s Hospital where they were treated for the injuries they had sustained. None of them were seriously injured. The father, the other son and the horse were unhurt.

Valletta district police are investigating.
