A Gozitan woman was critically injured early yesterday morning when she lost control of the vehicle she was driving and crashed into an oncoming truck.

The police said the traffic accident took place in St Andrew’s Road in Bahar ic-Caghaq when the 26-year-old woman from Ghajnsielem lost control of her vehicle and crashed into a truck being driven in the opposite direction. The car was extensively damaged.

The woman was rushed to St Luke’s Hospital where she was treated for the serious injuries she sustained. She was said to be in critical condition.

Duty magistrate Dennis Montebello appointed several court experts to assist the magisterial inquiry.

The police are investigating.
